Outreach and Advocacy
Outreach Commission:
Mission: To assist the Pastor and the Outreach Minister in the promotion and implementation of Pastoral Care and Outreach at St. Vincent’s Parish, in light of the Gospel and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Ministry to the Sick and Homebound: Eucharistic Ministers bring communion to those unable to join the Assembly on Sunday. Contact: Front Desk, 253-839-2320.
Funeral Ministry: helps families plan the funeral liturgies, provides a hostess to assist the family during the rites, and coordinates volunteers to provide reception at no cost to the grieving families. Contact: Front Desk, 253-839-2320.
Grief Ministry: provides ongoing support for those who have lost loved ones. Contact: Front Desk, 253-839-2320.
Mission Trek: Middle school and high school students, as well as adults spend one week of the summer in some of the poorer places in North America in an immersion program that serves the needs of the poor. A yearlong preparation period gets them ready for this amazing experience of conversion of heart and mind. Contact: Vanessa Tompkins 253.839.2320 x218.
Community Supper: every Saturday from 1:30—2:30 pm. St. Vincent parishioners volunteer to serve those in need in our greater community by working with the Federal Way Community Caregiving Network. Contact: Jackie Blair, 253-952-6988.
PREPARES: is an initiative of the Catholic Bishops of Washington State, which is open to all people. It provides services to pregnant women, fathers, and their families by walking the journey from pregnancy to their child’s fifth birthday.
St. Vincent de Paul Society: a Catholic lay organization, leading men and women to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering. Contact: Mike Fay mwfay@comcast.net

Tithing Fund: supports many needed ministries across the spectrum of Catholic Social Teaching: Emergency Help, Counseling Services, Archdiocese Hispanic Ministry, Archdiocese Criminal Justice Ministry, Maryknoll Missions, Project Rachel, Hospitality House, Fusion, Human Life, Reach Out Shelter, Federal Way Food Bank.
