COMMUNITY SUPPER

Join us to help neighbors with meals, basic needs

Members of St. Vincent de Paul Parish help support our neighbors in need by partnering with the Federal Way Community Caregiving Network and nearby Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd:

  • On Saturdays, our parishioners help provide a meal from 1-2 p.m. at Good Shepherd.

  • On Tuesdays, we assist the Caregiving Network from 10-11:45 a.m. at Good Shepherd to provide people with rental assistance and gas vouchers.

In addition, on Super Bowl football weekend, our parish takes up a “Souper Bowl Sunday” collection during weekend Masses to support the Caregiving Network.

History of the Community Supper

St. Vincent de Paul Parish was among the churches that established the Federal Way Community Caregiving Network in 1988. It now operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, with the mission of giving hope by providing people’s basic needs.

St. Vincent Parish and other local churches remain involved in supportive roles. Today, several St. Vincent parishioners are members of the FWCCN board, and many parishioners volunteer with the organization and our parish provides storage for food used in preparing the weekly meal at Church of the Good Shepherd.

The Caregiving Network also serves a meal on Mondays at 5 p.m. at Christian Faith Center in Federal Way; operates the SOS (Supper Outreach Services) in conjunction with the weekly meals; provides rent, shelter and transportation assistance through its Emergency Services program; and maintains two community gardens that provide organic fruits and vegetables to those in need.
