ENSURING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT

Ensuring a Safe Environment

Volunteers are an important part of our ministries at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, and keeping our children and vulnerable adults safe is of utmost importance to our parish community and the Archdiocese of Seattle.

That's why all volunteers must have background checks and special training, to ensure safe environments in our parishes, schools and archdiocesan departments and agencies.

Requirements for Adult Volunteers

If you volunteer with our parish's Mini Vinnies, Children’s ministries, Middle and High School ministries, Homebound ministries or other ministries where you will have contact with minors or vulnerable adults, you are required to have:

  • A background check completed on or before the first day of service, and every three years while in active service.
  • Abuse prevention initial training completed within 30 days of starting service and refresher training every three years while in active service.
  • Policies read and signed on or before the first day of service.

Volunteer money counters for our parish or school must have:

  • A background check completed on or before the first day of service and every three years while in active service.
